Clear Aligners in West Palm Beach FL

Clear aligner therapy involves a series of clear, removable aligners that are custom-made to fit your teeth. These aligners are made from smooth, comfortable, and virtually invisible plastic and cover your teeth. They gradually and gently shift your teeth into place based on the exact movements our dentist plans for you.

Each set of clear aligners must be worn for about two weeks. The patient removes them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each set of aligners with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened and reached the final position the dentist has planned. You’ll visit the dentist every 6-8 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.

What Issues Can Clear Aligners Correct?

Clear aligners can treat many of the orthodontic issues traditional metal braces do. Some of the most common issues they correct include:

  • Overcrowding (commonly referred to as “crowded teeth”)
  • Overbite
  • Overjet
  • Misplaced midline
  • Crossbite
  • Open bite
  • Tooth rotation
  • Gapped teeth

Are Clear Aligners Removable?

Clear aligners can easily be removed by the wearer. The aligners are taken out before meals and for cleaning. Clear aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day. They are more convenient than metal braces because they allow the patient to maintain normal oral hygiene and eat and drink what they please.

How Long Does the Treatment Take?

It can take from 10 to 24 months for the clear aligners to straighten your teeth. Treatment time largely depends on the severity of your case. However, if you wear them correctly and for 20 hours a day, you can expect your aligners to start moving your teeth into their proper positions in a few months.

Are Clear Aligners Right for You?

Clear aligners can be used to treat the vast majority of common orthodontic problems adults and teens may have. They can fix minor issues as well as make more extensive adjustments. Clear aligners are successful in treating overly crowded or widely spaced teeth. They can also fix more complex issues, including overbite, underbite, and even crossbite.
